Users will be able to view all active validators, their past performance, delegated stake, and the organization they represent. Users can then either directly stake/delegate their TAO (and later Dynamic TAO) to any and all validators they wish to stake with OR they can take advantage of our Smart Delegate Feature.
Smart Delegate, prior to BIT001, will automatically delegate (stake) a user's TAO to the best performing Validators, based on a combination of earned emissions and overall reputation. Smart Delegate will auto-rotate a user's TAO if and when the best performing Validators change.
View the following page for detailed context about BIT001 and its implications for the Bittensor Protocol:
Following BIT001, the act of delegating (or staking) becomes much more perilous and involved. As part of the proposal, users are no longer able to simply stake their TAO, they must now stake their TAO directly onto a subnetβfor a new concept known as Dynamic TAO. Dynamic TAO is a subnet specific token, and the health of that subnet is directly correlated to the price of its Dynamic TAO. Since users must now own Dynamic TAO, they are at much high risk of lossβas subnets are deregistered all the time, but also stand to gain much more from well performing subnets. On top of this change is a better mechanism to actually ensure Validators validate, competitively. Right now, many Validators literally just copy the answer of another Validator, and don't see much of a difference in their income. While beyond the scope of this documentation, essentially the proposal aims to better enforce the protocol's game theory on Validators, forcing them to innovate and create better, proprietary validating software. What does this mean for you? It means that it'll become more important than ever to both:
Choose the right Dynamic TAO to own, and
Choose the right Validators to delegate with
tao.bot aims to make this digestible for the everyday user by providing resources to better assess the health of subnets and the performance of active Validators. Users can then either make informed decisions and stake their TAO directly, or rely on the expanded Smart Delegation feature to manage their TAO for them.
